Man of Letters.

Oscar-winning actor Michael Douglas has been honoured with a degree from St Andrews University. He received a Doctorate of Letters for his contribution to British film.

... and just what contribution might that be? I can't recall the title of one single British film that he starred in. Perhaps his contribution was marrying yer woman and carting her off to the US of A, which meant that we didn't have to watch her on British TV any longer. British Cinema certainly profited from that deal.
