BANG!

Another photo from yesterday's day trip to Helens Bay - a group of cormorants and sand pipers were basking on the rocks at the edge of the sea and I was moving very slowly so that I would'nt frighten them off but before I got close enough to take a good photo some little idiot set off a firework and of course they all took flight. Well, I just turned the camera in their direction and clicked, hoping for the best. It's actually not too bad a pic - probably better than if they had all just been sitting on the rocks.

Holywood, here I come.

Today was such a good day weather-wise that me and dr. em decided to take a trip to the seaside - Helens Bay (just outside Holywood) (that's Holywood not Hollywood) - now that my camera has been repaired I will be taking all sorts of arty shots, like this one of rocks in the sea. But you can see. from the blue sky and calm sea, just how pleasant a day it was. Warmer than some we experienced over our so-called summer.

We weren't the only ones taking advantage of the good weather - I think this is the bird from the Bellsbridge bus who probably caught the train just so she could go for a paddle on the beach. Probably had some willicks and candy floss before heading off to the pub to get blootered.
