I was always under the impression that Machu Picchu was one of the last great unspoiled places to visit, but if you have a look at this Virtual Tour then you will see a number of reasons to avoid the place like the plague (all of them tourists). It would appear that Machu Picchu has also fallen prey to the monster of Tourism, but unfortunately there probably is not one natural wonder that has not been 'modernised' for the comforts of the tourist. There are still a number of reasons to visit ... maybe some day I will get to see them and hopefully when there are not too many tourists around.
